I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet, but I would love a script that breaks down per game, the formations a team used, and whether they ran or passe dout of that formation more (in %). Also, what formations were used on 1st down, second, third, along with the % of run and pass, also including short medium and deep passes, and inside/outside running. If anyone could dig ths up I'd love to have it, thanks!

The problem is, the server can't handle the network traffic something like this produces. The only way to get the formation is from the replay page. Once the 1000 people who download the script start loading 100 pages per game, the site will start getting REALLY slow. Everybody wants something like this, but given what we have to work with, we can't give something like this out even if we did write it. |

| I can see what you are saying here but how about just having a script that would put the name of the formation at the beginning of the play by play text. That way people could just copy paste the text into excel and to filter it how ever they want. |

| Or perhaps one that gives you play by play account of both sides of the ball's formation, but at the very end a summary. This would really slow it down since the user would have to watch every play himself, then it would force them to eventually learn it by sight. The statistical breakdown would be the only thing they wouldn't be able to learn with ease. Would this work, or is my weary mind simply rambling? |

The formation could be added to the play-by-play text, but only on the replay screen. Getting it to the play-by-play listing is the part that can't happen. Adding it to the replay screen seems kind of pointless since all you really have to do is look at the players to figure it out. Pen, paper, and an autoplay script is really all you need. Copy/pasting seems like a lot of extra work to me.

Your mind isn't rambling because this is the only way it will work. But, changing a couple lines in the script can remove any requirement to watch the plays. I have no doubt that someone would figure that part out. That would bring us right back to the too much traffic problem. |

Things like this annoy me because either they should be available to everyone or they shouldn't be able to be created at all. Is it fair that someone gets a competitive advantage just because they know how to code? I don't really think that's the spirit of the game.
I know these such scripts exist too because I have one. |

Who is it who's stopping you from writing it yourself?

I don't damn the people who write them or use them, I damn the people that allow them to be used (Bort). He could code things to make these scripts not work.
Not only should these scripts not exist in my opinion, but it also takes money out of his pocket every time one is used from the use of resources. It's just another case of him not really caring, because the money is rolling in. |
