I made this script. It looks like many people are asking for it these two days, so I feel I need to say something.
This script can never be released because of the server hit it can cause if out. The script is only used by few teams I associated with, I never give it to anyone and won't do so. So please stop asking. Even if you find me, I won't give the script out or have time scouting for your teams.
I don't want to be famous or earn some money by the script. I only want to enjoy my time in GLB.

As I said in my first post, I won't release or sell the scouting script no matter what is offered. A script like this can never be out to public because it can cause severe server traffic. Please stop looking for me or trying to get a copy of the script.

That screenshot is interesting. I do not see any data in any of the site's pages that tells you what formations are being run. That's the only difference between this screenshot and what you get out of the game scout script.
My first inclination was that he uses the XY coordinates of the players in the replay to determine the formation. That would make sense regarding the server load concern. But as I thought about that solution I began to wonder how you would compensate how defensive players line up. I convinced myself using the XY coordinates isn't exact and therefore wouldn't provide a perfect result set. Additionally, he signifies blitzing players, which would mean he would access the the variable that contains the play data array.
Maybe he takes the situation and posts to the AI tester to get possible combinations and eliminates them logically.
It's intriguing how he accomplished this. I have sincere doubts he's able to with the data from pages served up by the site.
I'm actually considering that this person has some inside information access. There are a few issues with a script like this that make me question it's validity for the community:
1. The number of page requests (GET) would number in the thousands.
2. The time it would take to write a script like this is huge.
3. Allowing anyone else to see the source would reveal the secrets.
4. He decision to keep his true identity a secret and his insistence that you do not pursue him.
5. The fact that he monitors this forum. It took 6 hours to reply to the original posting. |

Pabst, Dantae, and several other developers can make this script too, but they are obviously not insiders. The main reason I want to be kept anonymous is that I don't want my inbox explore. There are many aggressive users in GLB and they don't take no as the answer. I'd prefer not to have all the troubles dealing with it.
Let me try to answer your question:
1. I usually pick 6 to 8 close games while scouting and ignore other games. I try to keep number of gets lower, usually around 1000. I don't rely on the report and also watch replays like others.
2. I started writing the script in season 3 offseason and keep making changes each offseason.
3. I don't have access to Bort's source codes or any secret formula. All information is from replay page. I have stated why this script can not be released, as a developer, you should know the consequence of it being widely used.
4. This has been explained above.
5. I really don't see the connection. I have friends PM me about this thread after seeing it, and I feel I need to reply. |

Wow, I wasn't attempting to offend you. In fact I didn't even expect you to reply. I was just curious how you determine the formations from the replay data. I was thinking that you may have access to a deeper play log. I didn't claim your script should be made available. In fact, I think it's a bit unethical to run it. You're quite close to creating a DDoS with that many hits at once. Sometimes the pursuit of knowledge it all it's about. I was curious. |

That's why the script paces the requests slowly and doesn't read all pages at once so it is not close to a DDoS attack. |

That's why the script paces the requests slowly and doesn't read all pages at once so it is not close to a DDoS attack. |
Very smart. Still don't see how you could use the XY coords of the player divs to determine formations. It's killing me.
